Sexual Dysfunction… It’s not that hard!
Sex is an important part of life.
Men’s sexual problems must be treated to continue a normal sexual life, and to improve self-confidence and relieve anxiety and depression.
Several causes can lead to a sexual dysfunction:
–Psychological causes: (anxiety, relationship problems, depression, a traumatic sexual experience from childhood…)
-Physical causes: Common causes include: heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, a toxic lifestyle (tobacco use, drug or alcohol use, sleep disorders…), certain prescription medications, hormonal imbalance in testosterone (low testosterone), clogged blood vessels, surgeries or injuries that affect the pelvic area or spinal cord…
The cause must be treated to achieve a good prognosis and a good sexual health.
-When the cause is psychological, the patient should consult a sexologist.
-In case of a medical problem: The patient should first visit the doctor to find out the cause; if the cause is an underlying disease or a hormonal disorder; it must first be treated.
The doctor frequently uses Viagra, Cialis to treat erectile dysfunction (those medications help blood flow into the penis by inhibiting an enzyme phosphodiesterase E5, often called PDE5). PDE5 breaks down one of the molecules that relaxes the smooth muscles of the penis and the blood flow necessary for an erection.
When the medical treatment failed; a surgery is required.
PENILE PROSTHESIS must be the best solution for erectile dysfunction. It’s the best surgical treatment for ED in Lebanon.
This procedure involves placing a prosthetic device or penile implant inside the penis and scrotum; so the patient can get a sufficient erection for sexual activities. And it lasts for 45 minutes to 1 hour under general or spinal anesthesia.
The penile implant is effective in its ability to restore the patient’s capacity to engage in sexual activities and regain what was lost due to a medical issue; and the ejaculation is not affected by this procedure.
Sexual dysfunctions in men must be diagnosed and treated appropriately to maintain a good sexual health and to have the ability to engage in a sexual relationship.
