Robotic Surgery
Robotic surgery, or robot-assisted surgery, plays a major role in the modern world of medicine. Mostly, all innovative medical centers are benefiting from this type of surgery. The term Robotic Surgery mainly refers to the case where surgeries are performed with the assistance of robotic systems allowing surgeons to perform complex operations through very miniature incisions and resulting in better outcome and enhanced patient recovery. The first Robotic Surgery System to be adopted as a pioneer concept in the field of medicine was the da Vinci Surgical System. The system uses interactive robotic arms to complement the surgeons hand movement in order to perform specific tasks during an operation. Through few small incisions and a 3D high definition vision system, the surgeon is able to perform complex surgical procedures in a more effective and efficient way. The many benefits of using this procedure for patients include significantly less pain, less blood loss, less scarring, shorter recovery time, among many others.

Laparoscopic Surgery
One of the many minimally invasive types of surgery is the Laparoscopic Surgery. This kind of surgery began in the early 1900s and was initially used to treat conditions related to the gallbladder. It is now widely known and used in a wide range of operations such as: Laparoscopic nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy (removal of an entire kidney or part of the kidney), laparoscopic prolapse correction (for bladder, uterus and rectal prolapse), laparoscopic prostatectomy (removal of prostate), laparoscopic pudendal nerve release (for chronic pelvic pain) and much more. Laparoscopic Surgery uses very tiny cuts on a patients body. On average, each cut is no more than 1.5 cm long giving way to a tube, called a laparoscope which includes the tiny video camera and light, to be inserted into the cuts along with the surgical instruments required to perform the necessary surgery. Less cutting means more benefits for patients such as: smaller scars, less pain, quicker healing period, lower degrees of internal scarring, and much more.

Kidney Stone Surgery
Kidney stones have been on the rise throughout the world due to many causes. The solution to this condition can be found in kidney stone surgery.
Stone Laser Surgery is one of the many minimally invasive surgeries which does not require cuts on a patients body. It works by inserting a small instrument called a ureteroscope into the urethra and bladder to reach the ureter and kidney. When the kidney stones appear, the surgeon can then use laser technology to disintegrate the stones into smaller pieces which are either removed manually or are passed later on during urination. There are different types of Kidney Stone Surgery and each has its unique features. One type of surgery is Ureteroscopy, a procedure which utilizes flexible or rigid ureteroscope. The tube is inserted through the urethra and bladder into the ureter or kidney to access the stone and disintegrate it into smaller pieces. Another procedure is the PCNL which uses a needle that is inserted into the body through a small incision until it reaches the kidney stones and crushes them then removes them. Yet another more recent practice called MiniPerc or MiniPCNL is used nowadays which It follows the same process of the PCNL mentioned above but utilizes even smaller and thinner instruments to access and defragment kidney stones.
