Modern Care is a urology centre in Antelias, Lebanon, led by Dr. Fouad El Khoury, consultant urologist and uro-oncologist. The treatments below cover the conditions men most often present with: an enlarged prostate, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, and urological cancers. Each one is offered here because it is the least invasive option capable of solving the problem properly, not because it is the newest or the most expensive.
The same condition rarely calls for the same procedure in every patient. An enlarged prostate of 40 cc and one of 120 cc are different clinical problems, and a kidney stone in the lower pole of the kidney behaves differently from one lodged in the ureter. Treatment at Modern Care is therefore decided after assessment, which typically includes a clinical review, urine flow studies or imaging as appropriate, and a discussion of what matters to you, including preservation of sexual function and how quickly you need to return to work.
Where two options are genuinely reasonable, both are explained, along with what each one costs you in recovery time and in risk. If a condition is better managed with medication or observation than with a procedure, that is what will be recommended.
Most procedures here are performed through the urethra, through small keyhole incisions, or with robotic assistance. In practice that means shorter hospital stays, less blood loss, smaller scars and a faster return to normal life than open surgery, and in prostate treatment it also means a much better chance of preserving erectile and ejaculatory function. Dr. El Khoury trained in robotic urological surgery at ORSI Academy in Belgium and performs these procedures at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center in Beirut.

Alongside the procedures listed above, Modern Care manages benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate and bladder cancer, kidney and ureteric stones, erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, and male infertility. For patients with prostate cancer who want a tissue-preserving alternative to radical surgery, focal therapy options are also discussed at consultation.
A first appointment usually lasts around thirty minutes. You will be asked about your symptoms and their effect on daily life, examined, and in most cases sent for a small number of targeted tests rather than a broad panel. You will leave knowing what is causing the problem, what the realistic options are, and what each one involves. Nothing is booked on the day of assessment unless you want it to be.
